I Dare You

I dare you to face your fears,
To say, "You don't scare me,
I don't care why you're here."
I dare you to turn back the years,
To step out of the dark sooner,
And ignore the sneers,
I dare you to not cry your tears,

I dare you to leave me behind,
To fight your tears,
But see me cry,
I dare you to fight me this time,
To hold on to our friendship,
Like you were holding on to your life,
I dare you to say goodbye,

I dare you to say, "It's all right."
To turn away,
Without picking a fight,
I dare you to step into the spotlight,
See the world as it is,
Live a little more life,
I dare you to forgive me,
I was never right

Why?

Why do we love?
Why are we here?
Why do we sing?
Why do we fear?
Why are we different?
Why do we cry?
Why do we live?
Why do we die?
Why do we wait?
Why can we starve?
Why do we dream?
And wish on stars?
Why can we hurt?
Why do we laugh?
Why do we walk,
On the well worn paths?
Why do we bleed?
Why can't we see?
We are all humans
Just let us be

Do You Remember?

Do you remember when we thought we were able to fly?
To touch the clouds?
To be the sky?
Do we not do if we never dare to dream?
You are not alone in this world as you seem,
But where would we be now if we didn't dare to dream?

Do you remember when we thought love was forever?
There was never hate?
There was "never say never"?
Do we not do if we never dare to dream?
You are not alone in this world as you seem,
But where would we be now if we didn't dare to dream?

Do you remember when we wished on a star?
When we gazed out the window,
Thinking, "They're not so far."
Do we do if we dare to dream?
You are more loved in the world than you see,
But where would we be now if we didn't dare to dream?

Just Because

Just because you don't see my tears,
Doesn't mean that I don't cry,
Just because I wear this tough attitude,
Doesn't mean I'm not dying inside,
Just because I wear this mask,
Doesn't mean I don't take it off sometimes,
Just because I fell down once,
Doesn't mean I failed the climb,
Just because I have a dream,
Doesn't mean I can't have it come true,
Just because my walls are tough,
Doesn't mean you can't break through,
Just because you can't see me,
Doesn't mean I don't want you to,
Just because I look alone in a crowd,
Doesn't mean I'm not looking for you,
And just because you don't see me write,
Doesn't mean I don't feel pain,
And just because I retaliate,
Doesn't mean I'm playing your game

Breaking Free

Breaking free of the chains that hold me down,
Knowing all hope is lost,
But will soon be found,
Breaking free from the cage that locks me in,
Breaking free from the life I know,
Overcoming mountains,
Capped with ice and snow,
I'm running away to a new chapter in a book,
I'm running away and down I look,
Onto a new page in history,
Where I'm breaking free,
And running away to find a life that fits me

One Day

One day I will wake up to the sun,
Shining through my window,
And I will put on a dress,
And I will drive to the beach,
And when I am there alone,
I will run,
And be free,
Without anyone watching,
Without society judging me,
I want to be free,
To run and to love,
To fight and keep fighting,
When push comes to shove,

One day I will wake up to the sound of thunder as it rains,
And I will run outside barefoot,
And go dancing in the rain,
And when I am there under the pouring sky,
I will cry,
And no one will see,
Because they are asleep,
And only the stars can see me,
I want to be free,
To dance in the rain,
To fight and keep fighting,
But still cry when I'm in pain,

One day I will wake up to a love song in my head,
I left my headphones in last night,
When I crawled into bed,
And when I hear the lyrics of the song I left on,
I will cry,
But then I will realize,
That I am over you now,
Because you weren't there for me,
I let the memories go,
And now I am free,
To run down the beach,
To dance in the rain,
To laugh out loud,
Because the memories are faded now,

One day I will wake up and remember you,
But I will not cry like I used to do,
Because I let myself go,
And now I am free,
But I still hang on,
To my memories,
And I will smile,
Because of the memories we made,
And I showed the world,
That I'm not afraid,
Not afraid to love,
But I want to be free,
And one day I let go,
Of the thing that was controlling me

Hey

Welcome to my blog!  Basically I'm just going to be sharing my writing with you guys.  I am an aspiring author and write a lot of poetry, but I write other stuff too.  You just won't catch me writing non-fiction or reports.  I will try to post something every Sunday.  I hope you like it!
